Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Bain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koni Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Maui Boy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Koni Maximus!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bain misses with the combination.
Bain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maximus moves away from the strike by Bain.
Bain lands with a kick to the temple. Maximus shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Bain scores with a nice right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bain. Maximus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bain throws a sloppy head kick and Maximus moves out of range easily.
Bain tries to clinch but Maximus moves out of range.
Bain moves out of range of the body kick from Maximus.
Maximus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bain.
A big right from Bain misses.
Bain punishes Maximus's body with a nice straight punch.
A bone on bone clash there as Maximus blocks the leg kick.

Bain fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Maximus looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Maximus doesn't seem bothered though.
Bain tries to land a leg kick but Maximus saw it coming and moves away.
Maximus throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bain's head.
Bain throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bain misses with a looping right.
Maximus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maximus.
Bain misses with a hook.
Maximus slips a jab from Bain.
Bain misses with a wild body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bain loads up on a big right hand but Maximus slips the punch.
Maximus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bain.
Kurt Bain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bain throws a low kick but Maximus moves out of range easily.
Bain throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maximus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bain gets a clinch.
Maximus tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bain leaning his opponent against the cage.
Bain lands with a light punch inside.
Maximus has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kurt Bain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koni Maximus.
Bain scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Good body shot from Bain.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bain.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bain working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Maximus is trying to drag Bain to the mat but Bain just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Maximus looks winded!
A hook to the body from Bain.
Maximus takes an elbow to the temple.
Bain creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Maximus's defenses.
Maximus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bain walks away with a smile on his face. Maximus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bain throws a low kick, looking for Maximus's leg but Maximus calmly moves out of range.
Bain jabs Maximus to the body, keeping him at a distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bain cracks Maximus with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Maximus looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bain finish him?
Bain is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Maximus flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Maximus is out cold! Bain holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kurt Bain!
Kurt Bain gave a mention to Valhalla Q160 Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
