Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James York (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borat Sagdiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). York comes into the arena with Rage Against the Machine - killing in the name of blaring out of the sound system. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James York! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Borat Sagdiyev! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sagdiyev changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. York looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sagdiyev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but York is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. York is looking to regain half guard here but Sagdiyev keeps moving and retains side control. Sagdiyev goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, York rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sagdiyev's guard! Nice work there by York! York tries to free his leg and advance position but Sagdiyev is retaining full guard. York trying to control but Sagdiyev is working from the bottom. York looking to pass the guard. York distracts Sagdiyev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. York wants to control from the top but Sagdiyev keeps moving. York drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and York jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. York stands up and waves to Sagdiyev to follow him. York gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sagdiyev moves into the clinch. York breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sagdiyev fails with the takedown. York goes for a high kick. It partially lands. York misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sagdiyev shoots in and drives through. York sprawls well. Sagdiyev looks gassed! Sagdiyev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sagdiyev lands in his opponent's guard. York looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sagdiyev prevents York from getting back to his feet. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sagdiyev has eaten all the pies! Sagdiyev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. York wants to work for an arm triangle but Sagdiyev is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. York is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sagdiyev defends it well. York seems to be looking for submissions.

York throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The fight stays on the outside here - Sagdiyev looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sagdiyev takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

York misses with a takedown attempt and Sagdiyev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in York's guard now. Sagdiyev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. York swivels though and keeps the full guard. York throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from York. York ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. York no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. York working a defensive guard here.

York escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sagdiyev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that James York will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

York is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sagdiyev has gone for a leg lock! York slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sagdiyev's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sagdiyev keeping full guard, as York tries to pass.

York will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. York decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sagdiyev, up you get! York looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sagdiyev looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Borat Sagdiyev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

York shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No luck for Sagdiyev with that takedown attempt. York tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A decent looking cross lands there for York.
And that's the end of the fight! James York showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for York, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
