Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Long Pong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Reed has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Long Pong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Reed!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pong bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Pong closes the distance and clinches.

Reed has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pong uses from the top position.
Reed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pong manages to get himself to full guard.

Pong looking for a guillotine here but Reed defends easily.
Reed pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pong is keeping the position for now.

Pong kicks Reed off and gets to his feet.

Pong feints and as Reed raises his hands in defense, Pong changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reed wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Pong is now in half guard.

Pong is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Reed has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reed slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Pong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Reed, up you get!
Pong misses with the combination.
A left and a right from Pong both land. Nice combination.
Reed closes the distance and lands a one-two.


Pong is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Oh Pong is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pong is breathing heavily.
Reed is doing well to control the position and prevent Pong from advancing to side control.
Pong seems to have got his legs back now.
Reed wants to get back to full guard.
Reed wants to control but Pong is keeping busy.
Reed striking from the bottom.
Reed is holding on to half guard well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pong wants to pass the guard but Reed is defending well.

Reed pushes Pong off and gets back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Reed or perhaps it was just good defense by Pong which made him look bad.
Pong throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Reed counters by clinching up.
Reed fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Reed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Reed shoots in and bounces Pong off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Pong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pong has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Reed is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pong.
Pong prevents Reed from improving position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pong is being controlled here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Josh Reed will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Reed tries for a takedown but Pong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Reed looks to clinch
and Pong counters with a left and a right that stings Reed.
Pong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pong throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Reed sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pong looks to land a right hand but Reed moved out of range.
Long Pong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A bone on bone clash there as Pong blocks the leg kick.

Reed rushes Pong and presses him up against the cage.
Pong can't break the clinch.
Reed drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pong is looking to break free of the clinch but Reed has double underhooks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reed tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pong just stands there and leans against the cage.
Long Pong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Reed.
Reed wants a takedown.
Reed prevents Pong from breaking the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Reed has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Pong is trying to keep an underhook but Reed manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Reed trying to control the pace.
Pong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reed is working away from the top position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pong wants to sweep but Reed has passed to side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Pong is looking for a sweep.
Reed landing a few strikes.

Reed decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Pong shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Reed counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Reed.
Reed wants to control from the top but Pong keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reed slips nicely into half guard.
Reed is trying to control the action in half guard but Pong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Josh Reed has got the better of the ground game so far.
Reed is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pong is squirming around, avoiding Reed's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reed tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pong tries to control Reed's body but Reed pushes him off. Pong squirms to his side and now Reed has his back!

Reed working for a choke but Pong is defending well.
Pong is trying to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Reed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Pong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


No luck for Reed with that takedown attempt.
Reed avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pong scores with a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Reed looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pong throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Reed.
Pong throws a body punch but Reed moves out of range.
Reed tries to clinch up but Pong circles away and keeps his distance.
Long Pong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pong wants to stand but Reed is controlling his arm.
Reed wants to get back to his feet but Pong drags him back down.
Reed sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Reed trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pong is pressing down on Reed's thigh, looking to free his foot. Reed is holding on for now.

Reed kicks Pong off and gets back to his feet.
Reed fails with a takedown attempt.
Pong stuffs the takedown attempt from Reed. Reed gets slowly back to his feet.
Long Pong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Reed.
Reed looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pong is fending him off so far but Reed persists. Nope, Pong circles away and we're back to standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reed will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Reed tries to clinch but Pong moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Pong.
Pong falls off balance throwing a combination

and Reed counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Reed trying to control but Pong is working from the bottom.
Pong is trying to keep Reed in close.
Pong is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reed is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pong has his foot on Reed's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reed works his way back into a safe position though.
Reed passes into half guard.
Pong wants to improve his position but Reed is controlling well.
Reed slows the pace down in half guard.
Ground and pound from Reed.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Reed wants to advance to full mount but Pong doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Reed looking to pass the guard.
Reed advances position into side control!
Pong looking for a sweep but Reed has passed into full mount! Oh no!

And that's the end of the fight!
Josh Reed comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Reed winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
