The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryback with a poor takedown
and Janssen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Janssen counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Janssen rushes Ryback and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ryback tries to land knees in the clinch but Janssen avoids the damage to the body.
Janssen lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Janssen continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Frans Janssen.

Ryback is looking to break free of the clinch but Janssen has double underhooks.
Janssen takes a knee to the side of the body.
Ryback has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Janssen after a bit of a struggle.

Janssen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ryback stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
