Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Miller might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Johnny Cash - Hurt. Benoit is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Praise. Matt Miller is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a looping overhand right but Benoit ducks down to avoid it.
Matt Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miller ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Benoit moves away.
Miller misses with an uppercut.
Miller defending well as Benoit loads up on a big left hand.
Miller takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Miller dives in and grabs Benoit's left leg, looking for a takedown. Benoit pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.

Miller tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Benoit counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Benoit makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Benoit throws a hook to the side of Miller's head but Miller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Miller throws an overhand right that lands on Benoit's shoulder, as Benoit tries to avoid the shot.
Miller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Benoit avoids it really well and circles away.

Miller misses with an uppercut.
Miller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Benoit misses with the combination.
Miller is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Miller throws a leg kick but Benoit sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Benoit missing with a left hand there. Miller was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Benoit tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Miller is able to avoid easily.

Benoit throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Benoit crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Miller - the referee stops the clock and Benoit gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Miller. Benoit manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

so Miller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Benoit wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benoit swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miller makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Miller trying to control the position from guard on top but Benoit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Benoit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miller is one step ahead there.

Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Benoit is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Benoit lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Miller has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Miller and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
