Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Randy Moss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Len Daniels! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moss tries to clinch up but Daniels circles away and keeps his distance. Daniels changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moss tries to avoid it but Daniels manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moss to the ground. Moss escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Moss jabs Daniels right on the nose. Daniels blinks but takes it well. Moss throws a series of punches but Daniels avoids them all with ease. Daniels takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Moss misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Daniels tries for a takedown but Moss sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Randy Moss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Len Daniels. Daniels looks gassed! Moss connects with a solid leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Daniels takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Daniels feints and as Moss raises his hands in defense, Daniels changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Daniels passes Moss's left leg - he's now in half guard. Daniels is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Daniels blocks the strikes from Moss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Moss doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Daniels goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Moss turns into him and now he's in Daniels's guard.
Daniels preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Moss trying to stand up but can't free himself from Daniels's guard. Moss postures up and lands a big shot to Daniels's brow. Daniels throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Daniels wants to sweep here but Moss controlling him for the moment. Daniels is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Daniels has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moss can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Daniels is looking for a triangle but Moss pushes his legs off easily.
Moss wants to control from the top but Daniels keeps moving. Daniels looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Daniels has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Len Daniels has been cut. Moss darts in and clinches Daniels up against the ropes. Moss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Moss tries to bum rush Daniels with a series of wild strikes but Daniels uses good footwork to avoid the assault. No luck for Daniels with that takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moss clinches with his opponent.
Daniels drops down looking for an ankle pick but Moss pulls his leg out and moves away.
Moss misses with the combination.
No joy there for Daniels, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Daniels. Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moss as he avoids it easily. Daniels fails in his attempt to clinch. Daniels takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A punch combination from Moss misses. Daniels fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Moss misses with a series of wild punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moss drives through and clinches with Daniels against the ropes.
Moss taking a breather. Moss manages to break the clinch.
Daniels shoots in for a double leg but Moss sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Moss lands with a nice combination. Daniels backs away looking to recover. Moss throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Daniels stumbling backwards into the ropes! Daniels bounces back off the ropes towards Moss, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Moss lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Moss celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Randy Moss!
