The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wise.
Wise misses with the ground and pound.
Evans wants to control but Wise postures up.
Evans is trying to get back to half guard.
Evans is not content to let Wise control the position.

Wise is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Evans has escaped the position, nice work there.
Evans takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Evans parries the strikes from Wise easily there. Wise is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Evans to escape.
Wise cracks Evans with a big elbow.
Wise working the ground and pound.
Evans is looking to reverse the position.

Wise stands up and beckons Evans to his feet.
No luck for Evans with that takedown attempt.
Wise catches Evans with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Evans is rocked!

Wise lands a huge takedown. Evans is out but the ref is slow to react and Wise lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Evans lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
