Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Mondeux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Alaniz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alaniz has chosen Slippin as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Robbie Mondeux has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie Mondeux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie Alaniz!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Mondeux.
Alaniz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Alaniz moves away from the strike by Mondeux.
Alaniz ducks under a wild hook from Mondeux.
Alaniz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mondeux misses the jab.
A left lands for Mondeux.
Mondeux lands with a straight right. Alaniz didn't see that one coming.
Mondeux is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


Alaniz is rocked!
Mondeux swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alaniz is still on wobbly legs! Can Mondeux finish him?
Mondeux throws out a loose jab but Alaniz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mondeux is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Mondeux throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mondeux missing with a left hand there. Alaniz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Alaniz fails with a takedown attempt.
Mondeux pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alaniz staying out of range there.
Alaniz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mondeux throws out the jab.
Alaniz slips under a jab from Mondeux.
Alaniz moves away from the strike by Mondeux.
A slow jab from Mondeux misses its intended target.
Mondeux looks to land a left hand but Alaniz moved out of range nicely.
Mondeux throws a jab when Alaniz was well out of range.
Robbie Mondeux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters circling - Mondeux throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Alaniz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mondeux napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Alaniz seems to have recovered his senses.
Alaniz slows the pace down.
Mondeux is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Mondeux is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alaniz takes a little break here. Mondeux wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Let's hope that Alaniz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Alaniz scores with punches from side control.
Alaniz lands a nice forearm strike.
Alaniz is putting a hurting on Mondeux here, landing some big shots from side control.
Alaniz is staying tight to Mondeux's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Alaniz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mondeux is working to avoid the ground and pound but Alaniz connects with a decent elbow.
Mondeux is letting Alaniz control him for a moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Alaniz decides to stand back up. Alaniz steps back and let's Mondeux get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alaniz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mondeux connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Alaniz scrambles back to his feet.

Alaniz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mondeux is trying to defend but Alaniz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Alaniz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Charlie Alaniz has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mondeux thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mondeux throws a hook but Alaniz blocks it.

Mondeux tries to sprawl but Alaniz drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alaniz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alaniz is working for a submission of some sort.
Alaniz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mondeux wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Alaniz dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Alaniz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alaniz showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alaniz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Mondeux wants to get back to his feet.
Alaniz controlling the action here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Alaniz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mondeux with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mondeux tries to kick Alaniz off in order to stand up. Alaniz Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Alaniz works to advance to full mount. Mondeux defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Alaniz lands with some strikes.
Alaniz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Mondeux is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Alaniz has taken his back.

Alaniz is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Mondeux has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Alaniz has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Mondeux taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Alaniz doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Charlie Alaniz!
Charlie Alaniz decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
