Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Walters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mariusz Pudzianowski!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walters pushes Pudzianowski away with a front kick.

Pudzianowski gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Pudzianowski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Walters knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pudzianowski tries to stand but Walters controls the position and pulls Pudzianowski into his guard.
Pudzianowski tries to stand but Walters is controlling from the bottom.

Pudzianowski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Walters has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pudzianowski but great work by Walters.
Walters will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pudzianowski is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Walters sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Pudzianowski is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walters regains half guard.
Pudzianowski working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Walters's thigh. Walters counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Pudzianowski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pudzianowski throws an elbow that misses. Walters uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pudzianowski's guard. Nice move by Walters!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pudzianowski can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pudzianowski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pudzianowski perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Pudzianowski is keen to just control but Walters is a slippery customer.
Walters makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Walters.
Walters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pudzianowski manages to get himself to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mariusz Pudzianowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Walters moves in looking to clinch but Pudzianowski pushes him off.
Walters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pudzianowski fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Walters to the ground. Pudzianowski is now in Walters's guard.
Pudzianowski wants to get up but he can't break Walters's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Walters utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Walters wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Pudzianowski wants to clinch up but Walters keeps it at a distance.

Pudzianowski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pudzianowski showed some decent athleticism there.

Pudzianowski winds up and cracks Walters with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Pudzianowski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Walters's half guard.

and Pudzianowski counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Pudzianowski doesn't manage to clinch there - Walters circles away.
Pudzianowski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Walters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pudzianowski takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Mariusz Pudzianowski has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Walters gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
