The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swinging wildly here.

Boets shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boets is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Boets.

Smith loads up on a big right hand but Boets slips the punch.

Smith dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Boets. That did some damage!
Boets with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Smith to score with a decent uppercut.

Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boets moves away.

A nice inside leg kick there by Smith. That's going to slow Boets down.
Boets misses with a two punch combination.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith jabs Boets to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Boets is trying to drag Smith to the mat but Smith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Boets fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Boets fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Donk. Smith catches Boets right on the button with a cross.

Dimon Boets is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boets steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Smith. That one must have hurt.
Boets walks into a stiff left hand from Smith.
Oh Boets is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Good leg kick by Smith there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Smith fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Boets out cold! Brutal finish!
