Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tatsuya Kawajiri!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawajiri stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Barnes.
Kawajiri throws a lazy uppercut

and Barnes counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kawajiri jumps guard but Barnes stands there with Kawajiri around his waist. Kawajiri gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kawajiri is trying to pull guard but Barnes has him pressed against the ropes.
Barnes lands a damaging elbow.
Nice body punch from Barnes.
Barnes putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Kawajiri in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kawajiri is trying to pull guard but Barnes turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
John Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatsuya Kawajiri.

Barnes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Kawajiri takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Tatsuya Kawajiri has been cut.

Barnes drops Kawajiri with a big knee straight up the middle! Kawajiri is covering up against the ropes but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Kawajiri throws a hook to the side of Barnes's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kawajiri has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Barnes.

Kawajiri sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Kawajiri shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Tatsuya Kawajiri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kawajiri has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Barnes.
A decent looking cross lands there for Barnes.

Kawajiri takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kawajiri is still on wobbly legs! Can Barnes finish him?

Barnes throws a quick inside leg kick.
Barnes lands a glancing blow to the side of Kawajiri's head.
Barnes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Barnes darts in and clinches Kawajiri up against the ropes.
Barnes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kawajiri lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Barnes has Kawajiri pressed up against the ropes in a tight Thai clinch. Kawajiri is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Barnes - that's hurt Kawajiri badly! Oh, another knee lands and Kawajiri is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Kawajiri doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). John Barnes!
John Barnes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
