PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hebert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarmin Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hebert comes to the cage accompanied by Lose Yourself. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jarmin Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hebert looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well.

Hebert gets caught flat footed, as Jackson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hebert looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hebert swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hebert looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Jackson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Hebert manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.

Hebert wants to stand but Jackson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hebert is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jackson moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Hebert.
Hebert gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jackson wants to take a breather but Hebert is having none of it.
Hebert wants to get back to full guard.
Jackson passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hebert is trying desperately to improve position.
Jackson breaks from Hebert's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jarmin Jackson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hebert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jackson wants to pass the guard but Hebert is keeping the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hebert closes the distance but Jackson moves to the side

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hebert won't be happy with that.
Hebert takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hebert sneaks back into half guard.
Hebert is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back!
Hebert is trying to stick to Jackson's back but Jackson is turning into Hebert. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hebert's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jackson.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Hebert keeps moving.

Hebert can't keep his opponent in guard - Jackson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Hebert is retaining full guard.
Hebert wants to stand and escape but Jackson is having none of it.

Hebert escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hebert manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hebert manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jackson to take his back!
Hebert connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Jackson to escape the position.
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Hebert is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hebert gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hebert gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hebert apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jackson is nestled in close to Hebert, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jackson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Hebert is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Hebert is defending well.

Jackson is trying for a kimura here. Hebert looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jackson wins by kimura!
