Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenny Worner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Uley! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Worner wants to clinch up but Uley keeps it at a distance. Uley feints and as Worner raises his hands in defense, Uley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Uley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Uley tries to free his leg and advance position but Worner is retaining full guard. Uley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Worner wants to stand and escape but Uley is having none of it. Uley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sam Uley. Worner cracks Uley with a good jab. Uley doesn't manage to clinch there - Worner circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Worner misses with the combination.
Uley gets a takedown into half guard. Uley wants to stand but Worner has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Worner trying to hold on to Uley's head to control him but Uley postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Worner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Uley. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Uley is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Uley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Uley controlling his opponent.

Worner gets tackled into the cage by Uley. Uley maintains the clinch. Uley has hold of one of Worner's legs. Worner is fighting the takedown attempt but Uley gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Worner trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Uley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Uley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Worner swivels though and keeps the full guard. Uley pushes down on Worner's leg and manages to get into half guard. Worner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Uley stopping the sweep attempt from Worner.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Worner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Worner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Uley controls the pace. Uley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Worner can't keep his opponent in guard - Uley advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Uley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Worner defends it well.

Uley is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Uley is looking to get to half guard. Uley is breathing heavily. Worner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Uley is looking to escape. Worner is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Uley throws a sloppy head kick and Worner moves out of range easily. Worner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Uley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Uley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Worner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Worner is trying to control the position but Uley postures up. Uley seems content to control from guard here. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Worner shoots in but no luck this time. Uley tries to avoid it but Worner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Uley to the ground. Uley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Worner misses with a takedown and Uley counters by moving into the clinch.

Worner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Uley stopping the sweep attempt from Worner.

Uley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Worner controls Uley momentarily but Uley frees himself.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Sam Uley was stalling too much, according to the referee. No luck with that takedown attempt from Worner. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Uley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kenny Worner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sam Uley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Worner striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
And that's the end of the fight! Sam Uley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Uley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
