Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stu Grounder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Grounder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raphael Jones! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Grounder wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance. Grounder looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones! Grounder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Grounder scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jones?
Grounder controlling the pace for now. Jones working to try and regain half guard.
Grounder tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Grounder looking to control and managing it successfully. Grounder trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Grounder controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Grounder looking to control and managing it successfully.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Stu Grounder just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Grounder moves into the clinch. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grounder moves away. Grounder rushes Jones and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Grounder has picked Jones up - he's going for a ride! Grounder dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Grounder stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grounder is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Grounder to get the leverage. Grounder slows the pace down in half guard. Jones is looking to improve his position.
Jones tries to kick Grounder off in order to stand up. Grounder Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Grounder is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Grounder decides to stand back up. Grounder throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease. Grounder scores with a takedown into Jones's guard. Grounder stands up from Jones's guard - Grounder perhaps looking for a knockout. Grounder rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stu Grounder dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Grounder tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jones swings for the body but Grounder moves out of range.

Stu Grounder is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grounder but Grounder pushes him off and we're back to square one. Grounder rushes Jones and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Grounder goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.
Jones tries to pull guard but Grounder holds him up against the ropes and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Grounder pulls him back up using the underhooks. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones tries to pull guard but Grounder holds him up against the ropes and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
Grounder wants to break free but Jones has control.
Jones's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Jones wants a takedown.

Grounder on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grounder tries to get out of the position. Grounder has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position. Grounder wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grounder is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Grounder looking to control.
Jones won't allow Grounder to get back to his feet. Grounder is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Grounder wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Grounder lands a jab-cross combination. Grounder throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grounder clinches with his opponent.
Jones is pressed up against the ropes. Grounder has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Grounder connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.
Grounder wants to clinch. Grounder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Grounder misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Grounder sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Grounder moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Grounder tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. Grounder pushes Jones up against the ropes in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grounder changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Grounder has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones tries for a takedown but Grounder circles away easily and Grounder counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jones tries to clinch up. Grounder gets the takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Grounder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Jones is letting Grounder control him for a moment. Jones tries to bench press Grounder off him but Grounder keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones struggling a bit here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones seems a little lost for a moment, as Grounder dominates the positioning. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jones striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Grounder has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jones blocks a head kick by Grounder.
Jones gets caught flat footed, as Grounder shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Grounder looking to pass the guard. Grounder showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Grounder controls from within his opponent's guard. Grounder would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grounder pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Stu Grounder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Grounder wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard. Grounder wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Grounder wants to stall.
Grounder's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Jones jumps guard.

Jones kicks Grounder off and gets to his feet. Raphael Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones connects with a solid leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Stu Grounder showed his dominance in that final round. Well Grounder has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
