Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dana White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Vida Bandida. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demian Maia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dana White! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! White throws an ugly left hook that misses
and White takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Maia walks into a jab. Maia uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from White. Maia sizes up White with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. White throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
White looking to land some kicks to the body here.
White misses with a body kick. White thows a leg kick but Maia checks it and Maia counters with a nice body shot. White uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Maia. White's jab looks to have found its range, popping Maia under the eye. Maia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. White looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maia trying to control the action but White is working from the bottom. Maia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. White prevents Maia from moving into mount. Maia advances nicely into full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White is in all sorts of trouble here.
White avoids a series of strikes thrown by Maia.
White is working to get back to half guard.
Maia is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. White can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Maia with a couple of short strikes. Maia working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. White looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Maia! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Demian Maia! After winning the bout, Demian Maia thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
