Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Presian Slavov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Hatham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slavov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is LL Cool J - Whaddup. Ronnie Hatham has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Presian Slavov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ronnie Hatham!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatham shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slavov as he avoids it easily.
Hatham misses with a takedown
and Slavov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hatham's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Slavov showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Slavov wants to pass the guard but Hatham is keeping the position.
Slavov passes into half guard.
Hatham wants to control but Slavov is keeping busy.
Slavov wants to pass to mount but Hatham is defending the position.
Hatham is refusing to be controlled, as Slavov sits in half guard.

Slavov slows the pace down in half guard.
Hatham wants to improve his position but Slavov is controlling well.
Slavov is taking a breather. Hatham says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Slavov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hatham won't be happy with that.
Presian Slavov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Hatham.
A lull in the action here as Slavov stalls from top position.
Hatham is looking for a sweep.
Slavov is looking to take a break and control but Hatham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on Hatham's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Slavov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hatham is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Slavov off and has taken his back!
Hatham is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Slavov rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hatham prevents Slavov from improving his position.
Slavov wants to control but Hatham passes into side.
Slavov is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hatham's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Hatham is looking to stall here but Slavov recovers full guard.
Hatham wants to pass the guard but Slavov is keeping the position.
Slavov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hatham is one step ahead there.

Slavov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hatham is defending against the submission attempts here by Slavov.
Slavov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hatham knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slavov is working hard here to advance position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Presian Slavov dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Slavov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hatham but Hatham pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Presian Slavov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hatham throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Slavov moves into range and clinches up with Hatham.
Slavov tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hatham is trying to pull guard but Slavov has him pressed against the cage.
Slavov turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slavov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hatham struggling a bit here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Presian Slavov.
Slavov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hatham doesn't manage to clinch there - Slavov circles away.
Hatham fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Presian Slavov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Hatham.

Hatham gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Slavov advances to half guard.
Hatham is trying to maintain the position but Slavov is very close to passing his half guard.

Slavov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hatham knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Slavov works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hatham has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slavov is working away from the top position though.
Hatham looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Slavov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hatham!

Slavov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hatham for as long as he can get away with.

Hatham is desperately trying to improve his position but Slavov has a good base and remains in mount.
Hatham wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Slavov sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Hatham taps out!
