Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, J J Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Alkofer!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alkofer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alkofer somewhat.
Alkofer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alkofer looks for a takedown but Walker sprawls well.
J J Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Alkofer.
Walker scores with a nice right hand.
Alkofer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Alkofer has his takedown stuffed
and Walker counters with a nice uppercut.
Walker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Alkofer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Alkofer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Walker thuds a left hand into Alkofer's body.
Walker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Alkofer's head.
Alkofer shoots for a takedown but Walker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Donk. Walker catches Alkofer right on the button with a cross.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walker connects with a looping right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alkofer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Walker's corner calls for a 1-2. Walker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Alkofer is rocked!
Walker is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Walker lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Alkofer is looking to close the distance but Walker sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Alkofer crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Alkofer is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
