Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bengam Bloody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erik Hansen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bengam Bloody! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erik Hansen! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bloody looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bloody perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Bloody wants to pass the guard but Hansen is defending well. Hansen wants to improve his position but Bloody is controlling well.
Hansen is looking to control Bloody's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hansen avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bloody keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hansen trying to control from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bloody shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bloody was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hansen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bloody wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hansen is trying to control Bloody's posture but Bloody avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Bloody stalls from top position. Hansen tries to escape but Bloody is in control. Hansen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hansen is trying to improve his position. Bloody could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hansen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Bloody is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hansen is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hansen tries to kick Bloody off but Bloody keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bloody in particular looking to stall. Bloody knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hansen on the ground.
Bengam Bloody has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Bloody shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hansen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bloody's corner is telling him to maintain position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hansen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bloody is controlling him.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Bengam Bloody just wasn't active enough. No luck for Hansen with that takedown attempt. Bloody looking to score a takedown here. Hansen is defending well but Bloody drives through and ends up in Hansen's guard. Bloody's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hansen keeping full guard, as Bloody tries to pass. Bloody content to stall in guard here. Bloody might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bengam Bloody has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Hansen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bloody counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bloody throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hansen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bloody is in Hansen's guard. Bloody is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hansen controls Bloody momentarily but Bloody frees himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bloody is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bengam Bloody dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bloody wants to clinch. Left hook, right uppercut from Hansen.
It looks like Bengam Bloody has been cut. Bloody shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hansen napping and manages to drive through into side control! Bloody just content to control the position. Bloody's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hansen wants to get back to his feet. Bloody moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bengam Bloody wasn't doing enough on the ground. Bloody gets the takedown into side control. Bloody scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hansen to see if he's OK. Hansen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hansen throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Bengam Bloody overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hansen is trying to get back to half guard. Bloody is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hansen will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Bloody seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hansen for as long as he can get away with. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Bengam Bloody just wasn't active enough. Hansen throws a sloppy head kick and Bloody moves out of range easily. Bloody fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hansen sprawls well initially but Bloody persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bloody is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Bloody looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bengam Bloody. Bloody closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Bloody with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hansen wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bloody in particular looking to stall.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Bengam Bloody wasn't doing enough on the ground. Bloody shoots in for a takedown from distance. Bloody has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bloody is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hansen. Erik Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hansen clobbers Bloody with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Bloody shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hansen's guard. Hansen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bloody trying to control the position from guard on top but Hansen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hansen being controlled here, momentarily. Bloody won't allow Hansen to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Bloody sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bloody has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Bengam Bloody just wasn't active enough. Bloody sizes up Hansen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Bloody shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hansen's guard. Bloody postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hansen has momentary wrist control but Bloody slips an elbow through the middle. Bloody controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hansen keeping full guard, as Bloody tries to pass. Bloody prevents Hansen from getting back to his feet.

Bloody keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bloody is thwarting Hansen's attempts to control the position.

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Hansen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bloody connects with a decent elbow. Bloody is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hansen will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Hansen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bengam Bloody is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bloody landing strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bloody controlling from side mount. Erik Hansen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Bengam Bloody showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bloody, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
