Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Matsuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Cenar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Matsuo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Cenar! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cenar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Matsuo counters with a right hand to the body. Cenar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Matsuo counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Matsuo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cenar paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cenar fails with the takedown and Matsuo counters by moving into the clinch. Jay Matsuo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sebastian Cenar. Matsuo tries to stall but Cenar uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Matsuo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Matsuo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cenar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Matsuo is in Cenar's guard. Cenar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Matsuo is one step ahead there. Cenar pulls Matsuo in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matsuo wants to get up but he can't break Cenar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Matsuo trying to control the position from guard on top but Cenar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cenar looking for a sweep. Not yet Cenar, not yet. Cenar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Matsuo stands and throws Cenar's legs to the side, diving into side control. Matsuo wants to control but Cenar is keeping him busy. Cenar tries to buck Matsuo off but Matsuo is having none of it. Matsuo decides to take the fight back to the feet. Matsuo moves in looking to clinch but Cenar pushes him off. The fight stays on the outside here - Matsuo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matsuo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Matsuo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Matsuo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cenar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Matsuo controls the pace. Matsuo trying to control the position from guard on top but Cenar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Matsuo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jay Matsuo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Matsuo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Matsuo is keen to just control but Cenar is a slippery customer. Cenar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Matsuo. Matsuo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Matsuo wants to stand but Cenar has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Cenar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matsuo is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Matsuo in particular looking to stall.
Jay Matsuo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Cenar misses with a takedown and Matsuo counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Cenar looks winded! Cenar walks into a stiff left hand from Matsuo. Matsuo shoots in and gets a takedown into Cenar's guard. Matsuo trying to control but Cenar is working from the bottom. Matsuo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Cenar looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jay Matsuo wasn't doing enough on the ground. Matsuo stalks Cenar and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cenar's face. Cenar staggers backwards, shaken. Sebastian Cenar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cenar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Matsuo counters with a one-two to the body.
It looks like Sebastian Cenar has been cut. Matsuo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Cenar takes a kick to the side of the head. Matsuo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Matsuo trying to control but Cenar is working from the bottom. Cenar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cenar is trying to keep Matsuo in close.
Cenar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Matsuo pushing down on Cenar's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Matsuo controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Matsuo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sebastian Cenar's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Matsuo thows a body kick. Cenar tries to catch it but that hurt him. Cenar misses with a takedown and Matsuo counters with a low kick, right behind Cenar 's knee. Cenar has his takedown stuffed and Matsuo counters with a thumping low kick. Matsuo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cenar swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cenar takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Matsuo tries to clinch but Cenar moves out of range. Matsuo gets a double leg takedown into Cenar's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Matsuo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cenar is keeping the position for now. Jay Matsuo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cenar keeping moving, preventing Matsuo from controlling successfully. Matsuo advances to half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matsuo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cenar's head. Cenar is breathing heavily. Cenar controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Cenar trying to control but Matsuo postures up.
Matsuo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cenar has managed to free his arm - good work. Matsuo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cenar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matsuo is working away from the top position though. Matsuo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Matsuo drives through with a takedown into Cenar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matsuo throwing strikes but missing. Cenar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Matsuo throwing strikes but missing. Matsuo preventing the sweep. Matsuo trying to control but Cenar is working from the bottom. Cenar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Matsuo trying to control but Cenar is working from the bottom. Matsuo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay Matsuo. Cenar tries for a takedown but Matsuo circles away easily and Matsuo counters with a series of strikes. Cenar will be more careful next time no doubt. Jay Matsuo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sebastian Cenar. Matsuo scores with a head kick. Cenar tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Matsuo gets the takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Matsuo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matsuo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cenar has escaped the position, nice work there. Cenar is looking to reverse the position. Matsuo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cenar will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Cenar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Matsuo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cenar can do to turn this around? Matsuo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cenar is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Matsuo tries to pass to full mount but Cenar defends it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matsuo instigates a clinch. Cenar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Matsuo has him pressed against the cage. Matsuo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cenar to keep the fight standing. Matsuo breaks from the clinch.
Cenar has his takedown stuffed and Matsuo counters with a three punch combo that has Cenar backing up. Cenar nods at Matsuo to acknowledge the strikes. Matsuo connects with a high kick. Cenar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Matsuo counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Cenar is rocked! Cenar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Matsuo closes the distance and clinches. Cenar is still on wobbly legs! Can Matsuo finish him? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Matsuo manages to break the clinch.
Jay Matsuo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Matsuo cracks Cenar with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Cenar falls to his knees and Matsuo doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
