Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris throws a sloppy head kick and Monroe moves out of range easily.
Monroe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Monroe misses with a two punch combination.

Morris closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Monroe fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Morris has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Monroe uses from the top position.
Morris manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Monroe manages to get himself to full guard.
Morris cracks Monroe with a solid left hand.
Morris pushes down on Monroe's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Still in half guard, Morris seems content to control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Monroe has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Morris is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Monroe has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Monroe wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Morris has him pressed against the cage.
Morris lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Monroe or not.
Morris is trying to drag Monroe to the mat but Monroe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Monroe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Frank Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Monroe.
Morris goes for a takedown in the clinch but Monroe prevents it.

Monroe is fighting off a takedown attempt but Morris is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Monroe to the mat. Monroe regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Morris is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Morris has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Morris slips a nice elbow through Monroe's hands, connecting with Monroe's forehead.

Monroe wants to get back to full guard but Morris has passed into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Morris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Monroe has escaped the position, nice work there.

Monroe smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Monroe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Morris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Monroe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morris somewhat.
Morris is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Monroe.

A chopping leg kick lands by Monroe.
Monroe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Morris eats them both and turns towards Monroe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Monroe throws a series of strikes that have Morris backpedaling.
Morris misses with a head kick.
Monroe blocks a head kick by Morris.
Morris tries for a takedown but Monroe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Morris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Morris shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Morris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Monroe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Monroe stuns Morris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Morris has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Monroe regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morris won't allow Monroe to sweep him here.

Morris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Morris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Morris sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Monroe's guard.
Morris landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Frank Morris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morris decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Monroe misses with a straight left.
Morris avoids a punch combination nicely.
Monroe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Monroe throws a right hand that Morris ducks under and follows up with a left that Morris also avoids with ease.

Morris has closed the distance and engaged Monroe in a clinch.
Monroe is looking to take this one to the mat.
Monroe wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A frustrated look appears on Morris's face as he tries to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Morris pulls guard effortlessly.
Morris is pulling down on Monroe's head to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Monroe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A head kick from Monroe lands but Morris takes it in his stride.

Monroe pivots, looking for a leg kick but Morris is out of range and Monroe settles back down.

Morris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monroe sprawls well initially but Morris persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Morris has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Monroe defend it? Morris steps over the head and cranks it - Monroe is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Morris!
