Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshiro Montero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emil Yanenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montero comes to the cage accompanied by Danzig - Mother . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toshiro Montero! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emil Yanenko! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montero dives in and scores a takedown into Yanenko's guard. Montero is in close to Yanenko's body, working some short punches and elbows. Yanenko wants to sweep here but Montero controlling him for the moment. Montero slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Montero working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yanenko's head. Yanenko trying to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yanenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Yanenko looking for a sweep. Not yet Yanenko, not yet. Montero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Montero postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Montero slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Montero lands a decent elbow from side control. Yanenko tries to improve position but can't. Montero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Montero controls the position. Montero scores with punches from side control. Yanenko tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montero takes a little break here. Yanenko wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yanenko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Yanenko looking to sit in guard and control but Montero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Yanenko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Montero lands a couple of elbows. Yanenko has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Montero has passed into side control.

Yanenko is trying to defend but Montero finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Yanenko wants to get back to full guard. Yanenko is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Montero pulls his head out easily. Montero scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Yanenko is looking for a sweep. Montero is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Montero takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Yanenko looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Montero pushes past his half guard into mount!

Montero cracks Yanenko with a solid left hand. Montero is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Yanenko is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Montero wants to pass the guard but Yanenko is defending well. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Montero can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Montero postures up.

Montero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Montero scoring with some ground and pound. Yanenko looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Yanenko isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Montero stacks Yanenko on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Montero! Montero is staying tight to Yanenko's torso, preventing him from escaping. Yanenko is looking to regain half guard here but Montero keeps moving and retains side control. Yanenko is letting Montero control him for a moment.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Montero tries for a kimura but Yanenko is defending well. The referee asks Montero politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Montero controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Yanenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montero lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Toshiro Montero clearly takes that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Montero, right into the meat.
Yanenko takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Montero fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Montero connects with a crisp jab. Montero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yanenko, pushing him back against the cage. Montero pushes Yanenko back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A short body shot lands from Montero as the two fighters clinch.
Yanenko is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Montero struggles to land a body shot inside as Yanenko controls his hands.

Toshiro Montero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emil Yanenko. Yanenko is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Montero lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Yanenko tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Montero lands a hook that snaps the head of Yanenko backwards. Yanenko is fighting off a takedown attempt but Montero is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Yanenko to the mat. Yanenko regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Montero controls from within his opponent's guard. Montero with a nice head shot there. Montero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yanenko is keeping the position for now. Yanenko is trying to keep Montero in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montero sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yanenko's guard. Yanenko moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Toshiro Montero. Montero drives through and clinches with Yanenko against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Yanenko is trying to drag Montero to the mat but Montero just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Yanenko has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Montero avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Montero lands a shoulder strike. Montero pushes Yanenko back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Montero lands on the inside with an uppercut. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Montero throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Yanenkos head. Montero lands a body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Toshiro Montero had his way with Emil Yanenko in that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Montero throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Yanenko throws a jab when Montero was well out of range. Yanenko has his takedown stuffed and Montero counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yanenko's guard now. Montero slips nicely into half guard. Yanenko is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Montero jumps into side control! Montero is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Yanenko's shoulder. That is not cool. Yanenko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Montero wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Montero in side control, just content to control the action for now. Montero landing a few strikes.

Yanenko is not content to let Montero control the position. Yanenko is trying to improve his position. Montero is working to tighten is grip on Yanenko's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Yanenko has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Montero is really squeezing tight and eventually Yanenko passes out! Montero breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 5, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Toshiro Montero! Toshiro Montero is the new lightweight champion! Toshiro Montero spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
