PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Schamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schamp has chosen Go 2 Sleep as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Diggler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean Schamp!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schamp has managed to clinch.

Diggler wants to get back to striking at distance but Schamp won't allow it.

Diggler closes the distance and clinches up with Schamp, looking for a takedown. Diggler pushes Schamp against the cage but Schamp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Schamp throws an elbow but misses.
Diggler takes an elbow to the temple.
Schamp lands a damaging elbow.
Diggler is trying to break free.
Schamp prevents Diggler from breaking the clinch.
Diggler blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Schamp throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Diggler blocks it with crossed arms.
Diggler is trying to pull guard but Schamp has him pressed against the cage.

Diggler creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Schamp's defenses.
Diggler has Schamp pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Schamp manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Diggler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Diggler throws a right hand that Schamp ducks under and follows up with a left that Schamp also avoids with ease.
Schamp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diggler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diggler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schamp pinned against the cage. Schamp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Schamp takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Sean Schamp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Schamp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Schamp moves in looking to clinch but Diggler pushes him off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schamp has hold of one of Diggler's legs. Diggler is fighting the takedown attempt but Schamp gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Diggler has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Schamp is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Diggler.

Schamp decides to stand up, so the ref orders Diggler to his feet.
Diggler tries to clinch but Schamp is having none of it.

Diggler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Schamp tightens his grip and picks Diggler up, before dumping him to the ground. Diggler manages to land in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schamp won't allow Diggler to sweep him here.
Eric Diggler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sean Schamp is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Schamp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
