Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Enoch Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mantis Toboggan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toboggan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Reaching Out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Enoch Thompson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mantis Toboggan! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson feints and then cracks Toboggan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Toboggan down. Toboggan throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Thompson misses with the combination.
Thompson takes a kick to the side of the head. Toboggan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Toboggan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Toboggan throws a nice looking combination but Thompson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Toboggan looks to land a right hand but Thompson moved out of range. Toboggan misses with a looping left. Thompson throws a right and a left that Toboggan avoids nicely. Thompson throws a sloppy head kick and Toboggan moves out of range easily. Toboggan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thompson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Danga de danga de dang - Thompson scores with a four punch combination! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Toboggan misses with a looping right. Thompson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Toboggan's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Toboggan gets a clinch. Thompson with an attempt at a knee that misses.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Thompson. Toboggan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Toboggan fails in his attempt to clinch. Thompson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Toboggan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thompson. Thompson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Toboggan slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.
Toboggan throws out a loose jab but Thompson uses good head movement to avoid it. Toboggan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thompson. Toboggan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Toboggan's corner calls for a 1-2. Toboggan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Thompson thows a left - swing and a miss! Toboggan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Toboggan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Thompson doesn't seem bothered though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A nice leg kick lands there from Thompson. Toboggan thuds a left hand into Thompson's body. Thompson cracks Toboggan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Toboggan lands a nice shot to the body.
Toboggan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The fighters circling - Toboggan throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Thompson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thompson cracks Toboggan with a good jab. Toboggan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Good standup being displayed there by Toboggan as he connects with a hook. Toboggan throws a sloppy body shot
and Thompson counters with a series of strikes. Toboggan will be more careful next time no doubt. Thompson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Toboggan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Thompson scrambles back to his feet. Toboggan misses with a body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Toboggan throws out a leg kick but Thompson moves out of range and Toboggan only half commits. Toboggan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Toboggan misses with a looping right. Thompson throws a head kick but Toboggan moves out of range.
Thompson lands a nice hook to Toboggan's body. Toboggan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Thompson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Toboggan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Toboggan closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Thompson is rocked! Mantis Toboggan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thompson throws a leg kick but Toboggan sees it coming and checks it nicely. Thompson throws a right hand that Toboggan ducks under and follows up with a left that Toboggan also avoids with ease. Toboggan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Oh Thompson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Toboggan and Thompson are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Toboggan throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Thompson into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Toboggan knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mantis Toboggan! Mantis Toboggan really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that CEC Nutrition Q160 & Loans logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
