Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lassi Lambada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Squirtle Blastoise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blastoise comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Rolling Stones: Sympathy For The Devil kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lambada gets caught napping as Blastoise dives in and scores a takedown. Lambada manages to retain guard.
Blastoise throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lambada works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Blastoise trying to control but Lambada is working from the bottom.
Blastoise drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lambada manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Blastoise has Lambada in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lambada seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blastoise does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lambada wants to control from the top but Blastoise keeps moving.
Lambada is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Blastoise is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
We're going to have a standup here because Lassi Lambada wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Blastoise fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lambada uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blastoise.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lassi Lambada will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Blastoise moves away from the strike by Lambada.
Blastoise on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Lambada lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Lambada tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blastoise swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Blastoise shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lambada pinned against the cage. Lambada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lambada throws a solid leg kick but Blastoise takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lambada.
Blastoise tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lambada swivels and escapes.
Lassi Lambada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Squirtle Blastoise.
Blastoise lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Blastoise avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lambada is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Lambada got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blastoise has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lambada has managed to get both his arms back between Blastoise's legs - danger averted.

Blastoise throws a low kick, looking for Lambada's leg but Lambada calmly moves out of range.

Blastoise is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lambada's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lambada's back!

Blastoise shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lambada manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Blastoise wants to pass the guard but Lambada is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blastoise accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blastoise might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lambada kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lassi Lambada.
I think Lambada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
