Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shingo Takeda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Happy Camper! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Camper closes the distance and lands a one-two. Camper is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Takeda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck for Camper with that takedown attempt. Shingo Takeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takeda lands a with a good body shot. Takeda throws a series of strikes that have Camper backpedaling.

and Camper counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Camper.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeda landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Takeda is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Takeda scores a nice knee to the body.

Camper jumps guard but Takeda stands there with Camper around his waist. Camper gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shingo Takeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Happy Camper. Come on Takeda - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Camper tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Takeda just stands there and leans against the cage. Camper jumps guard and drags Takeda to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Camper keeping busy on the bottom but Takeda has passed one foot through into half guard.
Camper looks gassed! Takeda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Camper keeps working. Camper looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Takeda pushes past his half guard into mount! Takeda controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Camper is trying to escape the mount.
A nice elbow there by Takeda. Camper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Camper tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Takeda lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Takeda with the ground and pound from mount. Takeda controlling from the full mount. Takeda wants to control the pace but Camper is squirming around nicely. Camper is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takeda controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shingo Takeda dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Camper is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Takeda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Camper shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takeda as he avoids it easily. Shingo Takeda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeda keeps the fight on the outside. Takeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Camper. Camper throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takeda counters with a nice body shot. Takeda misses with a body shot
and Camper counters with a nice double leg into guard. Takeda is trying to keep Camper in close.
Camper passes easily into side control. Nice work. Camper is breathing heavily. Takeda is trying to escape the position but Camper is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeda is trying to control Camper's posture but Camper avoids it. Camper goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Takeda has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Camper but great work by Takeda. Camper stops Takeda from passing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Camper wants to control but Takeda postures up. Takeda could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Takeda takes a little break here. Camper wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takeda is looking to take a break and control but Camper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Takeda lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Camper tries to bench press Takeda off him but Takeda keeps the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Takeda closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Takeda throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Takeda throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Takeda!
Takeda looks to land a right hand but Camper moved out of range. Camper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Shingo Takeda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Takeda lands a jab to the head.
Camper takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Shingo Takeda will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Takeda looks to land a combination. Camper sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Takeda throws a right and a left that both miss. Takeda throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Camper wants to get back to his feet.
Takeda slows the pace down in half guard. Camper missing with punches from the bottom.
Camper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Camper actively working from the bottom here. Takeda wants to take a breather but Camper is having none of it. Camper wants to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Takeda misses with a double jab.
Takeda swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Camper wants to clinch and Takeda counters with a good, hard body kick but Camper shrugs it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Takeda bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Camper's head backwards. Takeda works over Camper's head and body with a nice combination. Camper has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Takeda finds it's way round the side to connect with Camper's head. Takeda just misses with a punch to the body.
Takeda is looking to wear down Camper with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Takeda scores with a decent looking hook. Takeda throws a series of punches but Camper moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shingo Takeda. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Takeda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
