22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Jones! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones throws a leg kick but Roosmalen sees it coming and checks it nicely. Jones lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Roosmalen did well to prevent Jones getting side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Roosmalen is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold. Roosmalen trying to control from the bottom.

Roosmalen controlling from the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones keeping moving, preventing Roosmalen from controlling successfully. Jones is trying to control the position but Roosmalen postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Roosmalen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Roosmalen keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones trying to control but Roosmalen is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Roosmalen avoids it really well and circles away. Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Roosmalen checks the leg kick. Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Roosmalen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Roosmalen looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well. Roosmalen wants to land a leg kick but Jones is out of range. Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Jones throws a chopping leg kick but Roosmalen manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Roosmalen checks a leg kick. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. Stefan Roosmalen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Jones. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roosmalen moves away. Peter Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones fails with the takedown. Stefan Roosmalen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones misses with a low kick.
Jones throws a low kick but Roosmalen avoids it. Roosmalen throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily. Roosmalen pushes Jones away with a front kick. Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Roosmalen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roosmalen's waist but Roosmalen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones tries to land a leg kick but Roosmalen saw it coming and moves away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Roosmalen. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roosmalen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jones throws a leg kick which misses Roosmalen's front leg but catches the back leg as Roosmalen tries to avoid it. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roosmalen sprawls well. Roosmalen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A solid body kick from Roosmalen. Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roosmalen pinned against the ropes. Roosmalen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jones throws a leg kick but Roosmalen checks it. Roosmalen misses with a kick to the body.

Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Roosmalen moves out of range of the leg kick from Jones. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A punch combination from Roosmalen misses. Roosmalen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Stefan Roosmalen will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Jones throws a low kick but Roosmalen avoids it. Roosmalen ducks under a wild hook from Jones. A low kick from Roosmalen is predictable there and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Roosmalen won't be happy with that. Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roosmalen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roosmalen, who protects the arm well. Roosmalen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jones. Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Roosmalen has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roosmalen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jones's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Roosmalen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back! I really don't envy Jones right now.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Roosmalen biding his time, controlling Jones. Roosmalen looking to hold on to the position here but Jones rolls and ends up regaining guard.

Roosmalen trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Roosmalen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard. Roosmalen trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roosmalen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roosmalen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones working for a triangle but Roosmalen defends it easily.

Roosmalen defends it easily. Roosmalen wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Roosmalen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jones keeping moving, preventing Roosmalen from controlling successfully.

Roosmalen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Roosmalen doesn't defend quickly enough and Jones has managed to lock this one up! Can Roosmalen escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jones on a fantastic submission victory.
