Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Grizzly Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Psycho - 50 Cent as his entrance music. Grizzly Adams could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Randall Johnson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grizzly Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randall Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Adams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Johnson dives on top into guard.

Adams looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.
Johnson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randall Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Adams doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Johnson moves into the clinch.

Adams is fighting off a takedown attempt but Johnson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Adams to the mat. Adams regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Adams has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Adams looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Johnson has picked Adams up and slammed him! Adams can't keep hold of the triangle and Johnson manages to pass to side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Adams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Adams is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

and Johnson counters with an inside leg kick.

Adams gets caught napping as Johnson dives in and scores a takedown. Adams manages to retain guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.
Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Adams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Johnson closes the distance and clinches.

Adams is fighting off a takedown attempt but Johnson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Adams to the mat. Adams regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Johnson lands a decent elbow from side control.
Johnson wants to control but Adams is keeping him busy.
Johnson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Johnson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Adams's shoulder. That is not cool.
Johnson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Adams down.
Adams is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Randall Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Adams jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Adams gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
