PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vic Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slawomi Niedzwiedz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Niedzwiedz has chosen Two Steps from Hell - Heart of Courage as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Slawomi Niedzwiedz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slawomi Niedzwiedz!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niedzwiedz misses with a looping left.
Niedzwiedz throws a head kick but Miller moves out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Niedzwiedz.
Niedzwiedz avoids the body shot from Miller.
Niedzwiedz misses with a low kick.
Miller uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Niedzwiedz.
Miller fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Niedzwiedz manages to avoid it.

Niedzwiedz doesn't manage to clinch there - Miller circles away.

It looks like Vic Miller has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Niedzwiedz is looking to score with low kicks.
The fight stays on the outside here - Niedzwiedz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Niedzwiedz lands a high kick to the side of Miller's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Niedzwiedz dives into guard, looking to finish.
Miller on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Miller tries to get out of the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Miller wants to sweep here but Niedzwiedz controlling him for the moment.
Niedzwiedz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Miller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Niedzwiedz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Niedzwiedz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Miller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Niedzwiedz trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Niedzwiedz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Niedzwiedz looking to sit in guard and control but Miller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Niedzwiedz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

It looks like Slawomi Niedzwiedz has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Niedzwiedz pulls Miller in close to his closed guard and prevents Miller from doing any damage or advancing position.
Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Niedzwiedz's head.


That has opened up Slawomi Niedzwiedz's cut even more.
Miller makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.


The cut above Slawomi Niedzwiedz's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Miller throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Niedzwiedz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Miller passes Niedzwiedz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Miller working Niedzwiedz over with strikes.


Slawomi Niedzwiedz's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Slawomi Niedzwiedz's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Vic Miller!
