Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yokida Matae! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
35 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriel Amok! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut there from Matae.
It looks like Uriel Amok has been cut. Amok rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matae moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Amok looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A low kick from Matae is predictable there and Amok counters with a stiff right hand.

Matae lands with a kick to the temple. Amok shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Matae moves to clinch but Amok breaks away and Amok counters with a lovely straight right hand! Matae fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Amok on the side of the head. Amok throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Matae. Amok connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Matae momentarily.

Matae closes the distance and clinches. Matae tries to throw a body punch but Amok avoids it by throwing Matae back against the cage. Matae misses with a hook to the ribs.

Matae tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Amok's elbow. Amok can't find room to land a body shot as Matae controls the action.
Amok gets through Matae's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Amok lands a body shot. Amok is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Matae is keeping busy. Matae prevents Amok from breaking the clinch. Amok is trying to maintain a safe position but Matae gets an underhook and turns Amok into the cage. Matae tries to kick Amok off but Amok keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amok is trying to control the action in half guard but Matae is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Amok prevents Matae from improving his position. Well, if Amok is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Amok perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Amok sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Matae defending well though. Amok controlling the action here. Matae keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Amok has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Amok can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Matae is looking to escape. Matae avoids a series of strikes thrown by Amok.

Amok not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Amok throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Amok in particular looking to stall. Amok working over Matae with some ground and pound. Matae looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
