The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suggs lands a jab.
It looks like Samir Oliva has been cut.
A head kick by Suggs misses
and Oliva counters with a nice leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Oliva.
Suggs checks a leg kick.
Oliva steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Suggs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Oliva. That's going to slow Suggs down.
A punch combination from Suggs misses.
Suggs tries to land a front kick but Oliva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Suggs misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oliva explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Suggs is breathing heavily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Suggs.
Suggs avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Suggs throws the left hand but Oliva avoids the punch easily.
Oliva tries a head kick but it misses.
Suggs tries a low kick but Oliva avoids it.
Oliva throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Suggs's head.
Suggs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oliva swivels and escapes.

Suggs moves out of range of the body kick from Oliva.
Oliva throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oliva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Oliva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A solid leg kick lands there for Oliva.
Oliva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Suggs has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Suggs takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Matt Suggs has been cut.

Both fighters circling a little - Oliva finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Whack! Oliva lands a heavy head kick that drops Suggs. The ref tackles Oliva to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Suggs was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Samir Oliva!
