Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Safra!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reaper throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Safra stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Reaper follows into mount!


Safra is rocked!
Safra tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Safra is still on wobbly legs! Can Reaper finish him?
Safra is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Safra seems to have recovered his senses.
Reaper controlling from the full mount.
Safra is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Safra is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Safra is in all sorts of trouble here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reaper wants to control the pace but Safra is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Safra is squirming around, avoiding Reaper's attempts to control the action.
Safra wants to hold on but Reaper pushes him away.
Safra tries to reverse the position but Reaper maintains control.
Safra looks gassed!

Reaper can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Safra is looking to escape.
Safra keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Safra gets back to half guard.
Reaper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Safra on the ground.
Safra is refusing to be controlled, as Reaper sits in half guard.
Reaper wants to stand up but Safra has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Safra is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Reaper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Reaper's back!
Can Reaper hold on?! Safra is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Reaper looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Safra controlling well, preventing Reaper from escaping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reaper covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Safra should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Can Reaper hold on?! Safra is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Reaper covers up after that shot from Safra.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Reaper dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Reaper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reaper swinging wilding here.

Safra feints and as Reaper raises his hands in defense, Safra changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Reaper keeping moving, preventing Safra from controlling successfully.
Safra slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Safra passes into half guard.
Safra slips a nice elbow through Reaper's hands, connecting with Reaper's forehead.
Safra wants to control but Reaper is keeping him busy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Safra working Reaper over with strikes.
Reaper is trying to stand up here but Safra is controlling him well.
Safra looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Safra looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reaper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Safra with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Safra seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reaper does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Safra passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Reaper!

Safra is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Reaper is forced to tap! Great finish!
