Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Trainor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trainor has chosen The Revolution Will Not Be Televised as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trainor looks to land a body kick but Woods moved away.
Woods shoots in for a takedown but Trainor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Woods gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Trainor counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Woods tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Woods. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trainor throws a knee to the head but misses.
Woods is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Trainor to keep the fight standing.

Woods's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Trainor takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Trainor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Trainor avoids a kick to the body.
Woods goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Woods dives in and grabs Trainor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trainor pushes down on Woods's head and hops out.
Woods lands a high kick!
Nice defenses there by Woods.
Woods shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Trainor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Trainor lands a nice leg kick that just misses Woods's sensitive parts.
Trainor wants to clinch up but Woods keeps it at a distance.
Trainor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Woods manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Trainor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Trainor wants to get back to his feet but Woods is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Woods just misses with a elbow thrown towards Trainor's brow.
Trainor tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Woods avoids it.

Woods shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trainor as he jumps to the side.

Woods is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Woods.
Well Trainor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
