Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with Youssoupha - Ne Compare Pas blaring out of the sound system. Gracie has chosen Nervecell - Psychogenocide as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robbin Gracie! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz lands with a nice body punch. Diaz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gracie bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Diaz's head. Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gracie trying to control the position.
Diaz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Diaz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie has an active guard here but Diaz has managed to pass into half guard.
Ground and pound from Diaz. Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Diaz distracts Gracie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Diaz defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Diaz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gracie's head. Diaz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Diaz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Diaz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Diaz trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz throws a big right hand that misses. Diaz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Gracie is trying to keep Diaz in close.

Diaz trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Diaz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Diaz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Diaz trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Diaz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gracie's head. Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Diaz passes into side control.
Diaz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Diaz trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rory Diaz dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gracie tests Diaz's chin there with a solid looking shot. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gracie lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A looping hook to the body misses from Diaz. Gracie does a little dance to reset his feet. Diaz lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Diaz shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Diaz working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Gracie has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Diaz has passed into side control.
Gracie taking a bit of punishment here - Diaz scoring with strikes. Gracie tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position. Gracie is not content to let Diaz control the position. Gracie struggling a bit here. Gracie is trying to improve his position. Diaz tries for a kimura but Gracie is defending well. Gracie is not content to let Diaz control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz lands some shots froms side control. Diaz trying to control the position but Gracie is working away. Diaz takes a little break here. Gracie wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gracie tries to improve position but can't. Gracie is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Diaz has hold of Gracie's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gracie tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Diaz cranks the arm and Gracie screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gracie, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rory Diaz! An out of breath Rory Diaz thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
