Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Carreri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Renato Silva!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carreri moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva is trying to drag Carreri to the mat but Carreri just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Carreri gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carreri gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carreri decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Carreri shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Carreri tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Carreri distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carreri connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

Carreri is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
