Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Miettinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tulevaisuuden Toivo!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toivo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Toivo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miettinen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Toivo looks to score with a jab to the body but Miettinen is just out of range.
Toivo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Miettinen.
A punch combination from Toivo misses.
Toivo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Toivo tries to bum rush Miettinen with a series of wild strikes but Miettinen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Toivo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Toivo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Toivo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miettinen circles away quickly and effectively.
Miettinen closes the distance and clinches up with Toivo, looking for a takedown. Miettinen pushes Toivo against the cage but Toivo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Miettinen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Toivo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Toivo looks winded!
Miettinen trying to control but Toivo is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Miettinen tries to free his leg and advance position but Toivo is retaining full guard.
Toivo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Miettinen dives into side control.
Miettinen tries to advance to mount but Toivo denies him.
Miettinen wants to control but Toivo is keeping him busy.
Miettinen taking a breather here.
Toivo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miettinen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Miettinen is working to tighten is grip on Toivo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Toivo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Miettinen is really squeezing tight and eventually Toivo passes out! Miettinen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
