Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Pitt!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from James misses.
James lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
James closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Dirk Pitt has been cut.
Pitt thows a body shot but no joy.
James wants to slow Pitt down by chopping away at his legs.
James walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pitt lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Pitt goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pitt misses with a series of wild punches.
James showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pitt.
James tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Pitt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pitt takes one on the button.
Pitt pivots, looking for a leg kick but James is out of range and Pitt settles back down.
Pitt tries a head kick but it misses.
James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
James tries to clinch up but Pitt circles away and keeps his distance.
Pitt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by James.
James slips a straight right by Pitt.
James throws a leg kick but Pitt moved away.
Pitt misses with a double jab.
A punch lands to the side of James 's head but he takes it in his stride.
No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
James checks a low kick from Pitt.
Pitt tried to score with a low kick but James checks it.
James chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pitt can pounce on him.
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pitt misses with a double jab
and James counters with a series of strikes. Pitt will be more careful next time no doubt.
Pitt is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James throws a powerful right kick. Pitt tried to block low but the kick was high! Pitt was taken right off of his feet! James jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rick James!
Rick James bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
