Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrei Kruzov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto misses with a takedown attempt - Kruzov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Yamamoto fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yamamoto tries for a takedown but Kruzov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Andrei Kruzov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Yamamoto.
Yamamoto fails with the takedown.
Kruzov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yamamoto swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Akira Yamamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kruzov clinches with his opponent.
Kruzov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kruzov tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Yamamoto is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kruzov is trying to break the clinch but Yamamoto is controlling him.

Kruzov lands a nice knee to the body.

Yamamoto lands a takedown into guard.

Yamamoto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yamamoto wants to pass the guard but Kruzov is keeping the position.
Kruzov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yamamoto is controlling him.

We're going to have a standup here because Andrei Kruzov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kruzov tries a head kick but it misses.

Yamamoto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kruzov to the mat! Kruzov manages to get full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kruzov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Yamamoto is aware though and is defending well.

Yamamoto content to stall in guard here.
Kruzov wants to get back to his feet but Yamamoto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Yamamoto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Akira Yamamoto hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Yamamoto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kruzov avoids it really well and circles away.
Kruzov delivers a nice body kick.
Yamamoto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kruzov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yamamoto somewhat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yamamoto tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kruzov swivels and escapes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Akira Yamamoto will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Yamamoto tries for a takedown but Kruzov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Yamamoto shoots for a double leg takedown but Kruzov sprawls well. He's pushed Yamamoto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kruzov lands a nice looking body kick.
Yamamoto shoots in but no luck this time.
Andrei Kruzov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Yamamoto.
Kruzov tries to clinch there but Yamamoto circles away.

Yamamoto drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kruzov wants to stand but Yamamoto is controlling the position.
Yamamoto is breathing heavily.
Yamamoto cracks Kruzov with a solid left hand.

Kruzov is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Yamamoto has his hands clasped together but Kruzov extends an breaks Yamamoto's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kruzov.
