Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Wilson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Koji Nakamura! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nakamura has Wilson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wilson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Nakamura pulls guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Nakamura keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully. Wilson looking to pass the guard. Wilson is working hard here to advance position. Wilson trying to control but Nakamura is working from the bottom. Nakamura is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wilson is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nakamura not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A head kick misses from Nakamura. Nakamura closes the distance and pushes Wilson back into the cage. Nakamura is looking for a takedown. Nakamura wants a takedown but no success here.
Ryan Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koji Nakamura. Nakamura pulls guard successfully.
Wilson wants to pass the guard but Nakamura is keeping the position. Wilson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Wilson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wilson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wilson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakamura swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryan Wilson. Nakamura with a poor takedown and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nakamura won't be happy with that. Nakamura looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wilson in side control, throwing shots but Nakamura defends. Wilson tries to advance to mount but can't. Wilson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nakamura, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nakamura wants to control but Wilson postures up. An elbow from Wilson crashes against the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakamura dodges the ground and pound from Wilson. Nakamura manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Wilson wants to free his trapped foot but Nakamura is holding on for dear life with his legs. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nakamura is trying to maintain the position but Wilson is very close to passing his half guard. Wilson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nakamura defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Wilson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Nakamura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nakamura off to one side. Nakamura doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wilson counters with a shoot takedown. Nakamura fights it but they end up in guard. Nakamura lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wilson! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nakamura trying to control but he's not successful this time. Wilson is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson wants to try and get back to his feet. Wilson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nakamura looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Nakamura is breathing heavily. Wilson tries to reverse the position but Nakamura maintains control. Nakamura throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Wilson is trying desperately to improve position. Wilson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakamura on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakamura trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nakamura fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Wilson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Nakamura misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakamura avoids the attempt from Wilson to control. Wilson is squirming around, avoiding Nakamura's attempts to control the action. Ryan Wilson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wilson tries to hold on but Nakamura postures up. Nakamura prevents Wilson from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakamura landing punches. Wilson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Nakamura trying to control but Wilson is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wilson is looking to improve his position but Nakamura isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Koji Nakamura will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryan Wilson just wasn't active enough. The fight stays on the outside here - Wilson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wilson doesn't manage to clinch there - Nakamura circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wilson looking to pass the guard. Wilson throws a big elbow that misses. Nakamura keeping full guard, as Wilson tries to pass. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wilson wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving. Wilson cracks Nakamura with a solid left hand. Wilson tries to stand but Nakamura is controlling from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Koji Nakamura hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Nakamura misses with a takedown attempt - Wilson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nakamura fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nakamura is looking to reverse the position. Nakamura managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Wilson.
Nakamura tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wilson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wilson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wilson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Wilson controlling from side mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wilson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Wilson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Wilson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
