Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johny Bourke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papa Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pop has chosen The Final Countdown as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johny Bourke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Papa Pop!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pop closes the distance and clinches.
Pop content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Pop landing knees to the head.
Pop avoiding damage.

Pop manages to break the clinch.

Pop gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Bourke is looking for a takedown.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Papa Pop.
Pop throws a push kick but Bourke slaps the foot to one side.

Bourke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pop pulls his head out easily.
Bourke is staying active underneath Pop, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Pop is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Pop seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Pop looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Pop is looking for a kimura but Bourke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pop to get the leverage.

Pop is keen to just control but Bourke is a slippery customer.

Pop slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bourke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pop defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Papa Pop dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Pop manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bourke on his heels. He'll look to pass Bourke's guard now, I'm sure.

Bourke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pop showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Pop must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pop keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bourke's head.

Bourke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pop doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pop manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bourke is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pop's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pop's back!
Bourke is trying to stick to Pop's back but Pop is turning into Bourke. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bourke's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pop.

Bourke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pop gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Papa Pop has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bourke manages to get back to half guard.
Pop really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bourke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pop seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bourke is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Papa Pop!
In his post fight interview, Papa Pop started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
