Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Gahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayao Miyazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Dave Gahan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hayao Miyazaki! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gahan looks to land a combination but Miyazaki avoids it well. Miyazaki lands with a nice body punch. Gahan fails to land with a series of punches.
Gahan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Miyazaki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gahan dives in and scores a takedown into Miyazaki's guard. Gahan trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyazaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Miyazaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Miyazaki, not yet. Gahan tries to free his leg and advance position but Miyazaki is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miyazaki keeping moving, preventing Gahan from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gahan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gahan trying to control but Miyazaki is working from the bottom. Gahan advances position into side control! The ground and pound from Gahan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Miyazaki tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gahan taking a breather here. Gahan is looking to take a break and control but Miyazaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gahan tries to score with some ground and pound. Miyazaki controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Gahan wants to control but Miyazaki is keeping him busy. Gahan misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gahan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. You can see the frustration on Miyazaki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gahan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Miyazaki to see if he's OK. Miyazaki takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gahan working away. Gahan cracks Miyazaki with an elbow. That is naaassty. Miyazaki regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gahan's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Gahan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miyazaki makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Miyazaki. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gahan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miyazaki swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Gahan dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Miyazaki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gahan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miyazaki throws out the jab. Gahan swinging wildly here.
Good work by Miyazaki as he checks the leg kick. A punch combination from Gahan misses. Miyazaki misses with a body shot.
Gahan forces Miyazaki back against the cage and clinches. Gahan tries to break the clinch but Miyazaki is controlling the position. Gahan keeps control of Miyazaki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gahan tries to throw a body punch but Miyazaki avoids it by throwing Gahan back against the cage. Miyazaki stalling the fight.
Miyazaki is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Gahan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miyazaki is trying to push Gahan away but Gahan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Miyazaki misses with the head strike.
Gahan looking to stall.
Gahan lands a shoulder strike. Gahan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Gahan tries to break the clinch but Miyazaki is controlling the position. Miyazaki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gahan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miyazaki moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gahan tries to close the distance and clinch but Miyazaki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gahan tries to clinch but Miyazaki is having none of it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gahan. Gahan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Miyazaki lands the left hand. Miyazaki dodges the punch combination from Gahan.
Dave Gahan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Miyazaki as Gahan shoots in. Gahan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gahan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Dave Gahan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Miyazaki bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gahan's head backwards. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gahan misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice defenses there by Gahan. Miyazaki scores with a leg kick.
Miyazaki with a nice cross. Gahan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miyazaki as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Gahan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gahan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Miyazaki ducks right into an uppercut from Gahan. Miyazaki lands a nice hook to Gahan's body. Gahan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gahan slips a jab and a cross from Miyazaki.
A bone on bone clash there as Miyazaki blocks the leg kick.
Gahan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Miyazaki lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gahan at a distance.
Miyazaki throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gahan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gahan throws out a leg kick but Miyazaki moves out of range and Gahan only half commits. Hayao Miyazaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gahan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
An inside leg kick lands from Miyazaki. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miyazaki drops Gahan with a beautiful combination! Gahan stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Miyazaki is looking for the KO!
Gahan is rocked! Miyazaki cracks Gahan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gahan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Miyazaki finish him?
Oh Gahan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Miyazaki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miyazaki lands a really nice looking cross but Gahan seems unphased.
Miyazaki fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Gahan to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Gahan looks to clinch but Miyazaki throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Gahan taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Hayao Miyazaki! Hayao Miyazaki seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
