Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Whitepride Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Clegane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whitepride Velasquez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Whitepride Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregor Clegane!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clegane falls off balance throwing a combination

and Velasquez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Clegane is in trouble now - Velasquez has advanced to mount!

Velasquez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Clegane can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Velasquez looking to control but Clegane is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Clegane is bucking up trying to escape but Velasquez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Velasquez working for a submission but Clegane is keeping him at bay.
Velasquez moves to the back.

Velasquez is persistently looking for the submission but Clegane is defending it well.

Velasquez is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Velasquez gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Velasquez gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Velasquez apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Clegane throws a shot from downtown. Velasquez moves away and avoids it.
Clegane misses with a body shot
and Velasquez counters with a good low kick that Clegane was not able to check.

Clegane throws a hook but Velasquez avoids it easily.
Velasquez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Clegane misses with a jab, cross combination.

so Velasquez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Velasquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clegane has momentary wrist control but Velasquez slips an elbow through the middle.
Clegane is trying to control the position but Velasquez postures up.

Velasquez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clegane can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Clegane wants to clinch up but Velasquez keeps it at a distance.

A punch lands to the side of Velasquez 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Whitepride Velasquez has been cut.
Clegane misses with an uppercut
and Velasquez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Clegane thinking.
Clegane misses with a hook to the body
and Velasquez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Clegane misses with a hook. Velasquez ducked under it nicely.
Clegane looks to land a left hand but Velasquez moved out of range nicely.
Velasquez moves away from the strike by Clegane.
Clegane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Velasquez.
Clegane missing with a left hand there. Velasquez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Clegane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Velasquez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Clegane.

Clegane lands a nice shot to the body.

Velasquez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Clegane.
Clegane pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Clegane just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Clegane misses with a lunging right hand
and Velasquez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Clegane doesn't manage to clinch there - Velasquez circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Whitepride Velasquez dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Clegane wants to clinch up but Velasquez keeps it at a distance.
Clegane scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Clegane misses with a body shot

and Velasquez counters with a single leg into guard. Clegane didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Velasquez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Clegane is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Velasquez is controlling him.
Velasquez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clegane swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Velasquez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Velasquez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Clegane seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Clegane wants to get back to his feet but Velasquez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Whitepride Velasquez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Clegane seems keen to control Velasquez's posture.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Velasquez is pushing down on Clegane's leg trying to pass to half guard. Clegane is fighting to maintain full guard but Velasquez has managed to sneak the leg through.

Velasquez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clegane's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Velasquez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Clegane throws out the jab.

Clegane smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Velasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Velasquez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Velasquez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Velasquez looks up at the clock and then as Clegane takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Velasquez smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Velasquez tries to score with some ground and pound. Clegane controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Clegane is looking for a sweep.
Velasquez misses with the ground and pound.
Velasquez passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Clegane!
Clegane is squirming around, avoiding Velasquez's attempts to control the action.
Velasquez is landing with some decent strikes but Clegane is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Velasquez with shots to the head and body - Clegane looks very uncomfortable down there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clegane has given up his back. Will we see Velasquez going for some submissions?

Clegane is trying to stand back up.
Clegane wants to escape the position.
Clegane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
What can Clegane do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Clegane tries to escape but Velasquez has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Clegane just trying to survive but Velasquez is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Velasquez has managed to slip his arm under Clegane's chin. This could be all over... yep, Clegane is tapping out! Submission win for Velasquez.
