Leite scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Leite has hold of Nogueira's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Nogueira tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Leite cranks the arm and Nogueira screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Nogueira, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Luis Leite!
After the fight, Luis Leite was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
