PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Akio Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takada comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - All Nightmare Long. Savage comes into a darkened arena with his song building. the scatman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takada throws a low kick but it's checked well by Savage.
Savage throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Takada.
Takada stuffs the takedown attempt from Savage. Savage gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Savage misses the target.
Savage fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Savage scores with a jab to the body.
Savage waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Takada.
Takada motions for Savage to come forward. Takada throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Savage changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Takada tries to avoid it but Savage manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Takada to the ground. Takada escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Savage swings widly with a right hand
and Takada counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Savage throws an ugly left hook that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Savage lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A cross from Takada lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A nice leg kick lands there from Takada.
Savage throws a combination that misses
and Takada counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Savage misses with a looping right.
Takada thows a left - swing and a miss!
Savage misses with a body kick.
Takada misses with a low kick.
Savage misses with a straight right.
Savage lands a jab.
Savage throws an off balance right hand
and Takada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Takada's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Savage connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Takada scrambles back to his feet.
Takada connects with a leg kick. Savage looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Takada fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Savage checks it well.
Savage throws a nice looking combination but Takada bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Takada feints and then cracks Savage's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Savage down.
Nice body punch from Takada.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Takada connects with an inside leg kick.
Akio Takada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Takada scores with a jab. Savage acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Takada chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Takada avoids the body shot from Savage.
Takada misses with a low kick.
Takada slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Takada lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Savage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Takada slaps away a takedown attempt from Savage, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Akio Takada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sid Savage.

and Takada makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Savage is still on wobbly legs! Can Takada finish him?

Savage is aggressively charging in as Takada backs up avoiding any damage. Takada tosses out a jab and Savage runs right into it face first! Savage is out cold! Takada dropped down on all fours and is barking in Savage's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
