Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abe Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Rocket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rocket avoids it really well and circles away.
Rocket fails with an attempt to clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jones.
Rocket keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rocket takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Rocket closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rocket wants to take a breather but Jones manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Rocket.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rocket defends it easily.

and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jones dives in and grabs Rocket's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rocket pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Rocket leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rocket closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Rocket is stalling here. Jones is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rocket seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close round but I would say that Abe Jones will probably get the nod.

Jones jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rocket is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rocket and Jones has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Rocket shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rocket's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
