Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mich Van Hyllen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conrad Cobra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mich Van Hyllen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Conrad Cobra!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobra clinches up with Van Hyllen and pushes him back against the cage.
Cobra lands an elbow that stopped Van Hyllen in his tracks for a moment.
The referee is keeping an eye on Cobra - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Cobra has hold of one of Van Hyllen's legs. Van Hyllen is fighting the takedown attempt but Cobra gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Cobra decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Cobra tries to pull guard but Van Hyllen holds him up against the cage and eventually Cobra drops back down to his feet.

A frustrated look appears on Van Hyllen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cobra tries to pull guard but Van Hyllen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Cobra has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Van Hyllen uses from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cobra can do anything to dispel that myth.
Van Hyllen wants to stand and escape but instead Cobra has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cobra is looking to work some ground and pound but Van Hyllen has wrist control.

Cobra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mich Van Hyllen.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cobra breaks from the clinch.

Cobra darts in and clinches Van Hyllen up against the cage.
Van Hyllen tries to circle away but Cobra has him pinned against the cage.

Cobra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Van Hyllen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Van Hyllen.

Van Hyllen rushes Cobra and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Van Hyllen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cobra.
Van Hyllen wants to break free but Cobra has control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cobra gets control of Van Hyllen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cobra will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Cobra has his foot on Van Hyllen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Van Hyllen works his way back into a safe position though.

Van Hyllen leaves Cobra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Cobra ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cobra no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Van Hyllen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Van Hyllen is fighting to break Cobra's control of his arms but Cobra is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Van Hyllen.
Van Hyllen lands a head kick. Cobra smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Van Hyllen fakes the leg kick and cracks Cobra in the body.
Cobra shoots for a double leg takedown but Van Hyllen sprawls well. He's pushed Cobra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cobra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cobra pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Cobra fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Hyllen, pushing him back against the cage.
Van Hyllen is trying to force a seperation but Cobra has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Van Hyllen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Cobra escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cobra moves into range and clinches up with Van Hyllen.
