Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Nolter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Nolter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mario Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Garcia defends it nicely.
Garcia throws a nice looking combination but Nolter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nolter.
Garcia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nolter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Garcia circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Nolter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nolter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Garcia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nolter somewhat.

Nolter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garcia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nolter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Garcia, who protects the arm well.

Nolter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nolter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Garcia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nolter stands up and waves to Garcia to follow him.

Garcia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nolter was covering up waiting for the punch and Garcia finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Nolter is looking to stand up but Garcia isn't so interested in that idea.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Nolter keeps moving.
Nolter seems keen to control Garcia's posture.
Garcia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nolter scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Garcia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Nolter is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Garcia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Garcia has escaped and now he's on top!

Nolter pulls Garcia in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nolter wants to stand but Garcia is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Garcia instigates a clinch.
Nolter lands a nice knee to the body.

Nolter has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Garcia uses from the top position.

Nolter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Garcia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nolter is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Garcia can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Garcia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nolter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nolter moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Garcia has worked his arm free - good work by Garcia!

Nolter has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Garcia!

Nolter goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Garcia is on top in guard.

Nolter pushes Garcia off and scrambles back to his feet.

Garcia shoots in and bounces Nolter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Nick Nolter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nolter pushes Garcia off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nolter napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Nolter wants to control but Garcia postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nolter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garcia to the mat! Garcia manages to get full guard.

Nolter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nolter works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Garcia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Garcia stuffs the takedown.
Nolter shoots in but Garcia avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nolter fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Nolter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Garcia manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nolter on his heels. He'll look to pass Nolter's guard now, I'm sure.

Garcia is looking to stand up but Nolter won't let him.
Garcia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

You can see the frustration on Garcia's face as Nolter controls the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Nolter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garcia can do to turn this around?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nolter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
