The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramsey looks to clinch

and Kawada counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Ramsey is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kawada pulls his head out easily.

Kawada is trying to work for a kimura but Ramsey is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kawada tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Ramsey is trying to maintain the position but Kawada is very close to passing his half guard.

Ramsey wants to control but Kawada is keeping busy.
Kawada is stalling here. Ramsey is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kawada seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ramsey has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kawada pushes Ramsey away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ramsey gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Ramsey is looking to take a break and control but Kawada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
