Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rorion Liborio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes into the arena with P.O.D - BOOM blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida shoots in looking for a takedown. Liborio tries to sprawl out of it but Machida keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Liborio manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Liborio has managed to clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Machida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Liborio throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Machida closes the distance looking to clinch
and Liborio counters with a single leg into guard. Machida didn't expect that.
Machida can't keep his opponent in guard - Liborio advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Machida won't allow Liborio to pass to mount.

Liborio is looking for a kimura here.
Machida kicks Liborio off and gets back to his feet.
Machida gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Liborio counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machida is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Liborio drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Machida manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Liborio has Machida in his guard.

Machida trying to move into half guard but instead Liborio has managed to sweep!
Machida wants to sweep but no luck.
Liborio wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving.
Liborio stands up from Machida's guard - Liborio perhaps looking for a knockout.
Machida is breathing heavily.
Liborio shoots in and bounces Machida off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Machida wants to stand and escape but Liborio is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Machida keeping moving, preventing Liborio from controlling successfully.
Machida is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Machida is looking to advance position but Liborio won't allow it.
Machida is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Liborio defends it well.
Machida seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rorion Liborio dominated that round.

Machida moves into range and clinches up with Liborio.
Liborio is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Machida pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Machida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Liborio is looking for a sweep. Machida is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Machida tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Liborio counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Liborio is pushing down on Machida's leg trying to pass to half guard. Machida is fighting to maintain full guard but Liborio has managed to sneak the leg through.
Machida is in trouble now - Liborio has advanced to mount!

Liborio has isolated one of Machida's arms. Machida looking to fight him off but Liborio twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
