The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayer throws a body punch but Vitalenko moves out of range.
Mayer scores with a three punch combo!
No joy there for Mayer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mayer misses with an uppercut. Vitalenko saw that one coming.
Vitalenko cracks Mayer with a right hand to the side of the head.
It looks like John Mayer has been cut.
John Mayer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mayer attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mayer throws a solid leg kick but Vitalenko takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mayer.
Mayer takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Vitalenko counters with a thumping low kick.

Mayer misses with a straight right.
Mayer missing with a left hand there. Vitalenko was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mayer blocks a jab.
Vitalenko lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Vitalenko stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mayer.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mayer. Vitalenko does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mayer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Crunch! Vitalenko slams his shin into Mayer's torso.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vitalenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mayer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vitalenko sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vitalenko gets tackled into the cage by Mayer. Mayer maintains the clinch.
Mayer blocking some punches.
Mayer goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mayer is trying to stall.
Mayer blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mayer gets through Vitalenko's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Vitalenko stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Vitalenko misses with some punches.

Vitalenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vitalenko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mayer throws out the jab.
Mayer lands a left and a right that send Vitalenko crashing to the mat, dazed. Mayer thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Vitalenko is rocked!
It looks like Jurij Vitalenko has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vitalenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vitalenko is still on wobbly legs! Can Mayer finish him?
Vitalenko on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Mayer bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Mayer misses with a leg kick.
Vitalenko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vitalenko throws a wild body kick that Mayer sees coming a mile off.
Vitalenko seems to have recovered his senses.
Mayer throws an overhand right that lands on Vitalenko's shoulder, as Vitalenko tries to avoid the shot.
Vitalenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Some bone on bone action there as Vitalenko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Vitalenko thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Mayer if he has to take too many more of those.

Vitalenko moves out of range as Mayer strikes.
Mayer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vitalenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Mayer.
Vitalenko misses with a straight left.
Vitalenko cracks a nice hook into Mayer's ribs.

Mayer is breathing heavily.
Mayer throws a leg kick but Vitalenko sees it coming and checks it nicely.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mayer throws a chopping leg kick but Vitalenko manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Mayer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Vitalenko slips a straight right by Mayer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Mayer dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mayer has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Vitalenko connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mayer. Mayer circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vitalenko thuds his right hand into Mayer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Mayer lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

That kick from Vitalenko tenderised Mayer's leg. Mayer is trying to keep his angry face on.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mayer looks to land a right hand but Vitalenko moved out of range.
Mayer takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mayer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Vitalenko tests Mayer's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vitalenko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mayer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mayer throws a leg kick but Vitalenko sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Mayer throws a predictable looking body shot
and Vitalenko counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Mayer! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
