Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hagan Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Coogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hagan Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rob Coogan!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coogan drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Henry is keeping the position for now.
Coogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Henry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Coogan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Coogan wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henry is looking to stand back up but Coogan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Henry.

Coogan wants to take a breather but Henry is having none of it.

Coogan is looking for a kimura but Henry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coogan to get the leverage.

Coogan passes Henry's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Coogan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Henry wants to control but Coogan is keeping busy.

Coogan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Henry slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Henry wants to stand but Coogan is controlling the position.

Coogan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Coogan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Coogan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Henry dives on top into guard.

Henry throws an elbow that misses. Coogan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Henry's guard. Nice move by Coogan!

Coogan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Henry wants to stand but Coogan is controlling the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Henry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Coogan dominated that round.
That's time! Henry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Coogan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Coogan lands in his opponent's guard.
Coogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Henry swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rob Coogan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Coogan tried to score with a low kick but Henry checks it.
Henry clobbers Coogan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Coogan gets a takedown into half guard.

Coogan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Coogan prevents Henry from standing back up.
Coogan wants to take a breather but Henry is having none of it.
Henry wants to control but Coogan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rob Coogan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Coogan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Henry sees it coming and defends easily.

Henry tries to roll over but Coogan keeps him under control.

Henry looks like he's trying to stand up.

Henry is defending against the submission attempts here by Coogan.
Henry is staying active underneath Coogan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Coogan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Henry tries to buck Coogan off but Coogan takes his back!

Rob Coogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Coogan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Henry counters with a nice uppercut.
Rob Coogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Henry throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Coogan shoots for a double leg takedown but Henry sprawls well. He's pushed Coogan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Coogan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hagan Henry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Coogan.
Henry lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Henry catches Coogan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Coogan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Henry pinned against the cage. Henry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Henry is looking to clinch.
Coogan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Henry defends it nicely.
Henry tries to bum rush Coogan with a series of wild strikes but Coogan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Henry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coogan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Henry shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Coogan has his takedown stuffed
letting Henry counter with a right hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Coogan is defended easily by Henry.
Coogan tries to move into range but Henry moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Coogan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Henry as he jumps to the side.
Henry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hagan Henry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Henry tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Coogan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Henry is fending him off so far but Coogan persists. Nope, Henry circles away and we're back to standing.
Coogan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Henry but Henry pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Henry throws a right and a left that Coogan avoids nicely.
Henry misses with a jab, cross combination.
Coogan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hagan Henry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Henry manages to get to full guard.

Rob Coogan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
